Okay.. I'm sorry. I know that this may offend some fans but... Football is NOT a sport. As much as I love to see a bunch of well-built men tackle one another for hours on end *drool* . Football is just.. a pointless sport. Like, even Hockey has a point: Beat the crap out of all of your opponents. Basketball: Put the ball in the hoop. Football: RUN!!! 300-Pound man on your heels! Its like a epileptic game of tag, constantly interrupted by seizures and turn-overs -_- I don't... get it. Anyone care to explain its significance?

Football is one of my favorite sports. it is a sport!!! Football is not about just a guy running with a ball. There is a lot of strategy involved with plays, position of all players, and technique. The hardest position to play I'd say is debatable between only pitchers and quarterbacks.

Football is NOT a sport .< Chess requires strategy. Football requires the ability to move quickly, and pray that THAT guy doesnt move faster >.

for someone who wants to be a to a psych major, u sure have a narrow mind. if you think it takes no strategy to make plays in football, then either you've never actually seen a game or just too ignorant to notice it.

Look. Footballs not a sport. Its more entertainment than actual sport. And its true, it requires more stamina and speed than actual strategy. But then again, very few sports require a real amount of acceptable strategy. The same can be said for baseball, which requires almost no strategy at all. Baseball also requires less talent than most other sports. If you hit the ball a third of the time, you're good enough to be a professional player. If you do a third of the work on any other sport, you wouldn't have made the team. Baseball is still a sport though. Basketball is even acceptable. Soccer is fine. Football? Pointless. Football is more... a comparison between individual players rather than the team itself.

you obviously don't know anything about sports, if you've never done it, u don't have the right to diminish it. unlike you i actually played in teams for these sports and know just how hard and strategic it is. all sports require a lot of skill and smarts. Baseball is one of the most strategic sports and i'm not going to bother explain why because you are too ignorant to understand.

*sigh* I like to debate. When debate becomes argument, I lose interest and become emotionless toward the subject altogether. Because I'm a generally insensitive person who doesn't much care about the feelings of others, I find that looking at matters from a logical point of view is the best way to avoid conflict. Lets use psychological compromise. Here goes: I do not like sports. I find some of them relatively entertaining to watch, such as baseball, hockey, and soccer. However, I do not like sports in general, football to be specific. You DO like sports, and don't enjoy conversations that diminish them in any way, shape, or form. I feel that you are upset with me. Your feelings toward me are unimportant (As we are complete strangers whose interactions should be purely intellectual or fun-based). However, I do not enjoy arguments. They confuse me and give me headaches (too much emotion often gives me headaches). I am not angry with you. However, I do not wish to continue this particular thread do to the fact that I can see that you do not enjoy it. Lets simply agree to disagree on this particular topic, and move on to something a bit more light-hearted. Something to mend this particular disagreement.

1. you are not looking at sports in a logical point of view. 2. your making poor assumptions about me that are all wrong due to your lack of analytical ability. 3. This matter is not about you not enjoying sports but the understand of the complexity of sports and its mechanics that you are ignoring. 4. you ignorantly diminished about sports without proper understanding. you are no better than an Amish person saying technology is evil.

o_o Love, I think you misunderstand. I was no longer talking about sports when I was looking at things from a logical point of view. Rather, I was referring to the mending of the relationship in general. Also, my assumptions were not wrong. You DO feel strongly about sports and you DON'T enjoy conversations that diminish them. If that's wrong, then the hidden meanings in your previous posts need to be explained. Surely they mean what they say? Also, I'm not the one being close-minded (I should have addressed this matter earlier). Consider, for a moment, that I began my first post with an apology and an open acceptance of the fact that it would probably offend some fans. However, I was under the impression that I would be allowed to state my opinion on the matter in a way that wasn't hateful or negative towards those who disagree? I feel that its rather close-minded of you to take a perfectly neutral opinionated statement and turn it into something quite twisted. Notice, you've offended me several times during the discussion. I haven't. this entire time, I've been stating my feelings on the matter fully, truthfully, and without any sort of anger. Rather than accepting the difference of opinion and presenting more than one post of evidence, you decided to fight it. I have tried, to the best of my ability, to remain calm and kind in a situation in which the other participant was not. But please understand that it does not mean that I am not upset with you. I feel that you are a more accepting person than what you've presented yourself to be in this particular post. However, I refuse to be the only being insulted. If you wish to continue the topic of sports as logical beings, expressing our feelings on the matter without emotional bias, then I'll be glad to do so. But if you feel that you cannot 'agree to disagree', then tell me, and as I said in the previous post, we'll try something else.

1. you said football is not a sport not as an opinion but as an ignorant fact. 2. along with your so called opinion, u gave no intellegent evidence to prove your point. 3. i'm not mad at you for not liking the sport. i could care less what you like or not like. i'm mad at the fact that you diminished sports without the prior knowledge or understanding. 4. as i conveyed logical evidence on why football and baseball are sports and the strategicness they hold, you responded back denying my opinion without any evidence of your own.
