Philip Michell will be ordained Deacon by the Bishop of Derby, Dr Alastair Redfern, in Derby Cathedral on Sunday, July 4. He will serve in the parishes of Brailsford with Shirley, Osmaston with Edlaston and Yeaveley.
Ordination to the diaconate means that the new clergy serve as deacons for a year before usually being ordained watches-k into the priesthood.
Philip, 41, has lived in various parts of the country. He is married to Rachel and they have two daughters - Rosie, six, and Ellie, three - who share the same birthday.

He added: "I'm hoping to keep up my fitness by doing lots more cycling while in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside."
